Children, Young People & Families
Welcome! /환영해요!
At Kingston URC, we care passionately about children and young people. We want them to have fun, to be safe and grow up knowing that God loves them and that Jesus through His Holy Spirit is always with them. They have great value and really can help change the world!
For the parents/carers, we hope to encourage the building of friendships through meeting and sharing experiences.
We are a friendly Christian community where we welcome others of all faiths or none, to join us in our worship and service to God.
Come just as you are – we’d love to get to know you better.

Jolly Toddlers’ Gym
On a Monday morning, it’s a Toddler Takeover in our hall! Drop in anytime between 10am and 12 noon. £3 per family / group.
Expect … space, fun and a chance to make friends, with different gym equipment to exercise those little bodies! Trumpet, tunnels, stepping stones, swing, climbing frame, ramp, slide…
There is a ‘shake break’ music and movement time for the little ones and sometimes parachute games too! Tea/fresh coffee for the adults. A biscuit, plus healthy snacks for all. Come and join us!
The gym runs every Monday, including school holidays, with the exception of Bank Holidays. In school holidays we have an art table for older children, who are welcome to join us.

If you are interested in making friends, and also learning about Korean language and culture, please come along and join us. In fact everyone is welcome – speakers of any language! We look forward to seeing you soon.

Crafternoons
Crafternoon is an all-age activity that takes place bi-monthly on the third Saturday of the month. Drop in anytime between 2pm and 5pm.
Expect … a different craft activity each session, e.g. glass painting, jelly printing, card making, needlecrafts, toiletries. Or bring your own project and just sit and natter!
Beginners or experts – all are welcome! There is a suggested contribution of £3 and refreshments are provided.
Youth Cafe
The Youth Café is held once a month on a Sunday between 4-5pm and is for young people aged 11-18. It is held during term time, either at our neighbour church All Saints (Kingston Marketplace) or at our Kingston United Reformed Church building. It’s time to chill, relax, have some fun and reflect on some of life’s big questions. Free drinks, cakes and snacks! The Youth Cafe also attends a youth event locally run by Youth Ministry in Communion. Large numbers of young people from Year 7 and above attend. The activities are wild and the food is amazing! All followed by Holy Communion together. Contact Sally to find out the date of the next session: youth@kingstonurc.org

Generation Zone
Have you ever thought you could do with getting to know some younger/older people?
That your or your children’s circle is too narrowly based in terms of age?
The Generation Zone is for all ages. It is not a children’s activity but for all.
It happens on Wednesdays during school holidays and half terms from 11.00 onwards. Lunch is included.
It is a time of worship, craft, games and conversation.

Safeguarding Statement
We take the URC Southern Synod guidelines regarding safeguarding extremely seriously. We ensure that all children and vulnerable adults who attend our activities are supervised by leaders and volunteers who have been appropriately recruited and possess an enhanced DBS certificate.
A number of our parents and volunteers are trained Mental Health for Young People First Aiders.
