Outreach & Charity
Street Pastors
For more than a decade, our church premises have been a base for Kingston Street Pastors on Friday and Saturday nights, from late evening until early the following morning, plus during one Friday afternoon a month. Teams consist of Street Pastors, who patrol Kingston Town Centre, and Prayer Pastors, who remain in the building. This ecumenical street-based ministry is undertaken by a group of more than 40 trained local Christian volunteers from a wide network of local churches. Street Pastors provide help to vulnerable people as they leave Kingston’s pubs and clubs to make their way home, and also engage with and support rough sleepers. All Street Pastor and Prayer Pastor volunteers commit to one shift per month. Street Pastors welcome new volunteers, so if you would like to find out more, please get in touch.
Charities we support
Charities who use our building
The Richard Mayo Centre have been fortunate in establishing long-term relationships with local charities. These charities have either made our centre their base and have leased an office on a yearly basis or they use us for regular weekly or monthly bookings and sometimes just for a one-off event.

Kingston Child Contact Centre
Established in 2011 and setup by a founding group of Kingston URC members, Kingston Child Contact Centre have been using the building bimonthly ever since.
In 2023 they also took a lease on one of our offices for 1:1 supervision.
The Contact Centre provides a neutral and safe venue for contact between children and visiting parents.
Helmar Care and Community services
Helmare Care have been with us for 24 years, using two of our offices.
At Helmar Care & Community Services, they specialise in providing top-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, as well as strengthening and improving the communities in which they operate through a variety of programs and services.
